Faktum Kids

Faktum is Gothenburg's largest street magazine. Many of its sellers are homeless, but unfortunately, homelessness is an issue that has fallen far down the public agenda. To change that, we chose to highlight something most people don’t think about: Many children in Sweden also live in homelessness. In Gothenburg alone, that number is 663.

So, we launched a children’s version of Faktum—Faktum Kids—focused on children living in homelessness.

To spread the word, we first released four films on social media. On the day the magazine was published, we organized a large demonstration in central Gothenburg, where over 100 schoolchildren sold the issue in solidarity with homeless children. Media outlets were also there to report on the event.

Sales of Faktum increased by 50% compared to the previous year. And SVT, P1, P3, P4, SvD, Aftonbladet, and GP were just some of the major media outlets that covered the issue—ultimately bringing homelessness back into the public debate.
